Celebrate Mother’s Day at Barrica in the Park

This Mother’s Day, why not treat your mum to something special and join us at Barrica in the Park? We have a fantastic selection of quality wines and craft beers on offer, as well as premium gins to make this day extra special. And to top it off, we’ll be serving our famous grazing platters, plus there will be entertainment from local acoustic singer Luke McColl – so come along and enjoy some great music, drinks and delicious food!

The event is planned for indoors but, if the weather is good, we might just move outside so you can appreciate the beautiful Barrica in the Park garden. Come spend an afternoon with us for an unforgettable experience!

Visited here a few times after grabbing lunch at the Cafe next door. Well! What a difference! Whilst the place next door is seriously lacking in customer service and care, this place is a breath of fresh air. I was served by a lovely lady called Brenda, and a young chap called Elliott, both of whom made me feel welcome and valued as a customer. The shop is an Alladin's cave of fine wines and other beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. They also sell local honey, small gift items and a lovely selection of cards and Wallings ice cream! They also have a lovely outdoor seating area behind the shop, and a small indoor seating area upstairs, which I think alot of people dont know is even there! They are dog-friendly, though I dont have a dog myself anymore, I love places with pooches! I would love for this place to sell good brews (they do filter coffee, but l am not a fan of it, unfortunately) and basic food - sandwiches, toasties, soup, fruit and plain toast, cream teas, etc. I'm certain they would make a killing on customers who value their welcome and smiles on a Visit to Astley Park. Thanks for brightening my days 😘

Lovely little shop, two floors, great selection of unusual wines and foodie gifts with a strong emphasis on 'local' producers/makers. . Ground floor: Wines, local beverages, foods, coffee bean corner and chilled selection of cheeses (low stock on the day of visit) plus yummy pastries with option of good hot coffee/mulled wine to go. . Upper floor: Crafty giftware with a local vibe, some interesting ceramic sculptures and colourful hand blown glass. . Afterthoughts: Perhaps would be nice to offer some good breads to go with cheeses but appreciate that it may not be a commercial option. 🙂 Lots of potential....

We had a superb time on Sat 20th April when our party of 4 attended the wine flight, presented by Jane (the owner of Barrica Wines) whilst sampling a 3 course meal prepared by Ian (the owner of the View Bar & Bistro). Brilliant food and fantastic wine … we were all amazed. Also, the 4 of us learned that apart from selling a great range of wines at affordable prices; Barrica Wines offered far more than being a classy wine merchant. In the café area upstairs (where we enjoyed the wine flight and food) we saw that there were extremely interesting crafts and artefacts made by local artisans and artists for sale. Without doubt a gem to be experienced for both the wine and the café. Plus, the View Bar & Bistro, Bury Lane, Withnell (who provided the meal) is also highly recommended.

I bought the pitmaster zinfandel after staff recommendation! I've been on a red wine journey since January looking for a healthier alternative than rosé wine. I've tried a few reds now, and made more beef ragu than I care to remember with the amount of red wines I've not liked 😅🍷 This zinfandel is really smooth and fiery. It doesn't leave the usual bitter aftertaste in the mouth I've experienced with other types. Thankyou for your expert recommendation! I'll be back! 🍷

Definitely worth a visit to stock up or buy some great gifts. Parking is right next to the shop on Hall Gate Car park plenty of spaces plus disabled. Would recommend a trip to Barrica On the Park.

Over 20 Artisan Retailers share this space situated within Astley Hall Farmhouse’s Walled Garden. A Great Place to visit with lovely walks, scenery and now an excellent local shopping experience. Well worth a visit for some unique gifts, great wines and artisan foody treats.
